The rumor  has it that Empowering life publishing started in the 1950 with a southern woman by the name of Helen Williams, who was the Grand Mother of Karl Antonio Love Perkins . It is recorded that she was the first poet in the family to have her work printed in the local newspaper in Forest Mississippi. Visionary Karl “Antonio Love Perkins would say it started in 1985. When he first wrote his poem “King Had a Dream.”  The truth is that Empowering life began in 2000. Karl Perkins also known as Antonio Love decided to fulfill his dream of publishing his first book “off the Top of My mind, which was a collection of poetry writing from 1993 -1999 decided to put his work into print. He spent years of research and submitting books to a publisher that really had no interest in poetry. He finally found someone who believed in him and his work. And it was a very new concept  self publishing or what we call print on demand.  For little over 2000 dollars  he printed his first book. He was so excited to see his work in print and for 20.99 you could purchase the book.  However, he would only receive one dollar per each book sold in royalties. Karl had invested 7 years of his life’s work only to find that the book was overpriced, low author royalties, and  the author discount just as expensive as the book. As a proud observer of his finished project in print form, he was without any marketing from the company or an ecommerce marketing solution. Needless to say he was simply out of $2,000.

Empowering Life publishing was born with the  goal of limiting publishing cost for the authors and provide a community for the authors who are in the business of helping other authors.
